There are a lot of sale/coupon match ups this week!  I’m planning 3 transactions to double 15 coupons this week.  Only problem is w/ this heat.  I don’t want my groceries to melt in the car!  I may have to bring a cooler w/ me tomorrow.  I think this takes me to a whole new level of deal insanity.  😉  Anyway, here are the transactions I have planned out.  There are even more deals to be had, so be sure to check out the complete list at Minnesota Coupon Adventure.

Freebies in my Mailbox 5/9-5/15

Another great week of freebies!  The last couple weeks it seemed that all the goodies showed up Friday and Saturday.  Earlier in the week I was thinking it was going to be slim pickin’s.  I guess good things come to those who wait.  😉

I got another (my 3rd!) U by Kotex pack, Kraft sample pack (4 bags wheat thins, 3 packets caramel latte mix, free mac n’ cheese coupon, free Deli Fresh lunchmeat coupon, $10 rebate form), $5 gift certificate to Los Banditos (local mexican restaurant), Disney vacation planning DVD, $5 Clorox rebate (not pictured – already deposited!), Remedy Life magazine (not pictured).  Freebies are so much fun, especially the coupons that come with them!

5/12 Copps Run

Sorry for not posting a list this week.  I had a long list of possible scenarios and wasn’t sure if I’d end up w/ one or two transactions.  A lot depended on certain items being in stock.  I ended up w/ only one transaction and did better than I expected, especially since I spent a good hour wandering aimlessly around the store (NOT how I like to shop).  My total for everything below was $14.43 and I saved $35.45 (71%)!

Here’s the list:

  • Roundy’s apple juice, 1.99
  • Roundy’s mac n’ cheese, 2/$1
  • Kraft Cheddar Explosion, 0.58 – FREE MC from facebook (cashier rang it at full price 1.25!!) = 0.67 overage!
  • 4 Ronzoni Healthy Harvest, 0.98 each – (2) 1.00 off 2 IP’s (doubled) = 4 FREE plus 0.08 overage
  • 2 Ronzoni Smart Taste, 0.98 each – (2) 0.75 IP’s = 0.23 each
  • Ken’s dressing, 1.69 – $1 MC (doubled) = FREE plus 0.31 overage
  • Pop Tarts, 2.50
  • Hershey Bars, 4/1.88 – BOGO Special Dark bar MC (rang up at full price of 0.78) = 4/1.10
  • Armour breakfast sausage, 0.87 w/ in ad coupon
  • 2 milk, 2.19 each
  • Activia, 2.00 – 1.00 IP (doubled) = FREE
  • GoGurt, BOGO 2.69 – 0.80 IP (doubled) = 2/1.09
  • Nivea women’s body wash, $4.79 (20% off) – $4 MC = 0.79
  • Nivea men’s 3 in 1, $3.03 (20% off) – $3 MC = 0.03

I missed last week’s Walgreens and CVS deals on the Nivea body wash, so I was hoping for a good price at Copps.  Initially it appeared they were sold out as the regular shelf was empty, but I did find some on an end cap that was not marked w/ the 20% off sign.  I took them over to the other shelf to match UPC codes to make sure they were part of the sale and they were!  Check out Minnesota Coupon Adventure for all the IP links.  Have fun doubling today AND Saturday!!

5/10 CVS Run

Want to know how I got everything you see here for just $10.70 plus tax?

Transaction #1:

  • 2 Right Guard Total Defense, 2.99 each – (2) 1.00 IP’s = 2/3.98, earned $4 ECB’s
  • U by Kotex, 4.99 – $1 MC – $1 CVS printable = $2.99, earned $4.99 ECB’s
  • – $5 ECB’s
  • Total = $1.97 plus tax, $8.99 ECB’s earned (7.02 profit)
  • Would have saved another dollar if I hadn’t waited too long to get the $3off2 coupon for Right Guard.  No longer available when I tried to print it.

Transaction #2:

  • Zyrtec 25 ct. liquid gels, $18.99 – $4 IP – $2 CVS printable = $12.99, earned $7 ECB’s
  • -$8.99 ECB’s from transaction #1
  • Total = $4.00 plus tax, earned $7 ECB’s ($3 profit)

Transaction #3:

  • Carefree liners, $1 – $1 MC = FREE
  • Crest Pro-Health, $3.50 – 0.75 MC = $2.75, earned $3.50 ECB’s
  • Purex BOGO, $8.99 – $2 MC = 2/$6.99
  • Skin Effects cleanser, $6.99 – $5 CVS coupon = $1.99
  • – $7 ECB’s
  • Total = $4.73 plus tax, earned $3.50 ECB’s
  • Could have saved $2 more if I’d had a second copy of the Purex coupon

Had I paid CVS’s full retail price for these items, my total would have been $67.71, so w/ sales, coupons and ECB’s I saved over 84%.  Man, I love when the deals are good at CVS!!

Freebies in my Mailbox 5/1-5/8

The past few weeks, I’ve been signing up for LOTS of free stuff online.  Thanks to using a reader (My Yahoo) and being a facebook fan of all the blogs I follow, I’ve been keeping up w/ all the offers a lot better and the results are starting to show up in my mailbox.  My friend Shelly has told me that her mail carrier is always astounded by the number of items she gets free in the mail and sometimes has to rubber band them all together.  Well Shelly, I got my first rubber banded batch of freebies this week!  🙂  Check out what I found in the mailbox this week:

I hope to keep the free samples rolling in, so if this continues I’ll try to share here on the blog.  I had taken a picture a while back to show some other freebies I’d received but that was before I really got rolling on the requests.  I had one good week back in March and this was what I got then…

I was really excited about the full size bottle of Pantene I got from Vocalpoint.  There are lots of websites where you can sign up to get free samples; Vocalpoint, Wal-Mart, and Sam’s Club being a few.  I seem to get the most when I follow the blogs that post when new freebies are available.  The blogs I follow include Money Saving Mom, Freebies 4 Mom and Hey It’s Free.  You can find links to these and other sites on my Couponing Info page.  If you want to become a freebie hound too, I definitely recommend using a reader to keep up to date on all the blogs.  My friend Shelly wrote an excellent post on how and why you should use a reader here.  Facebook is becoming another great place to get free samples and coupons as more and more companies are using it as a marketing tool.  Have fun seeking out some freebies of your own!!

5/5 Copps Run

Hey, I finally posted on the day I shopped!  Yippee!  Today I spent $20.54 for everything you see above.  I saved $25.41 (55%).  I got everything on my original list except for the Budget Gourmet meals.  They were completely out of stock, which was no surprise w/ such a high limit.  Didn’t need them anyway.  Just thought they’d be nice to have on hand when we needed something quick.  I added the chocolate milk, which was on sale for $2.50 and buttermilk to make banana bread this week.  Got the napkins and yogurt free, Kraft Meltdowns free plus $0.34 overage, and new sparkling Juicy Juice for only $0.50.  It’s nice to get new products like the juice and cheese for free or super cheap so you can try and see if you like them w/o spending a fortune.  Good luck w/ your shopping this week!  Let me know how you did!
